Pearl Harbor

Sunday, Sept. 27, was our very last day off, and there was no question about where Tim and I were going.  Pearl Harbor.

This is what we saw when we arrived, just as we heard the National Anthem and the theme songs for our military branches being played.  When I heard "Anchors Aweigh", I could feel the tears coming.  I think the whole Pearl Harbor experience was even more special for me because Alex is in the Navy.  Each  sailor (and soldier and airman and Marine) who died that day was somebody's son or daughter.

Tim was interested in touring the submarine, The Bowfin.  By the time we had visited every exhibit, though, he decided he would wait until next time.
